Fred was exposed to the sounds of Jimi Hendrix and Muddy Waters at a young age and frequently wailed on air guitar, especially after hearing the chugging riffs of Metallica on MTV as a teenager. He began singing and playing in his first originals/covers rock band, Headcase. Always writing, recording, and pursuing personal study, Fred attended Columbia College Chicago for his Bachelor of Arts. He studied jazz and played with some of the best musicians in Chicago.
Fred’s vocal range is huge from thunderous bass to wailing highs with his trademark Fredsetto vocal technique. He plays guitar, bass, banjo, drums, and pedal steel guitar.
Fredneck is Fred’s musical outlet for solo acoustic and full band shows from Milwaukee to Chicago.
Fred is also lead guitarist/vocalist/banjo in Bella Cain, one of the Midwest's hottest and most successful country cover bands (www.bellacain.com).
